How we verify credit hire company listings
Published · Last verified
This is a directory of credit hire and accident management firms. We are not an insurer, not your insurer, and not a credit hire company. One listed firm holds paid Featured Partner placement. How we earn: /about/
Every listing in this directory is compiled from named public sources. A review score is shown only where a sourced public profile stands behind it and the platform and collection date are named: no source, no score. No firm currently carries a published score, and paid Featured Partner listings carry none by rule. This page sets out the full method: what gets a firm listed, how fields are verified, how review signals are collected, how the directory is ordered, and what a score cannot tell you.
1. What gets a firm listed
A firm is listed when public sources show it operating as a UK credit hire or accident management provider. The seed dataset (compiled 07/08/2026) draws on the Credit Hire Organisation members directory (opens external site), Companies House, and firms’ own published information; listing is free, no firm can pay to be added or removed, and firms outside the trade body are added as they are identified.
2. Field verification states
Every fact on a listing carries one of three states, and the state is visible:
- Verified — confirmed against a named independent source (such as the Companies House register), with the check date shown.
- Claimed — the firm’s or its trade body’s own published description, republished here marked as a claim.
- Unpublished — the firm has not made the fact public; the field shows a plain “—”. Every dash is deliberate: it records that the point holds no sourced value, and a firm will be able to evidence any field once the corrections route described at /about/ is published.
3. Review-signal rules
A paid Featured Partner listing carries no review score, no review count, no company registration number and no registered address at all, so that no reputation or identity signal on this site can be read as bought. For every other firm a review signal is a score, a review count, a named platform, a collection date and a link to the source — all five or nothing. Where a score is published it is collected from a public review platform on a stated date, and scores are never blended across platforms into an invented composite; where a firm holds profiles on more than one platform, each is shown separately with its own source and date.
4. Ordering
The default order everywhere on this site is alphabetical. Nothing paid affects order, scores or field content; the only paid placements are the labelled Featured Partner units, which sit outside the organic list and are excluded from the directory’s structured data.
5. What a score cannot tell you
A review score summarises the experiences of people who chose to write reviews on one platform in one period — it cannot tell you whether a firm delivers to your postcode, runs your vehicle type, or how it will handle your specific claim. Where a score is published, treat it as one field among those on the listing, and check the ones that decide your outcome first: how to choose a credit hire company.
How are the review scores on this site calculated?
They are not calculated by us at all, and none is published at present. A published score is the platform’s own published figure, recorded with its review count, platform name and collection date. We aggregate nothing and adjust nothing — we source, date and link.
Where do the review scores come from?
From public review platforms, checked directly on the collection date shown next to the score, with a link to the profile so you can verify it in one click. No score is published on this site at present.
Why does no listing show a review score?
Because no sourced public review profile has been collected and dated for any listed firm, and a paid Featured Partner listing carries no score by rule. An absent score is a data state, not a verdict; a firm with no public review presence at all is worth noting when you compare.
Does Featured Partner status affect a firm’s score or ranking?
No. Featured Partner placement is paid and labelled, but it cannot change a score, a field, or the alphabetical default order. It works the other way: the partner’s listing publishes no review score, registration number or registered address at all, and every Featured Partner unit is marked on its face and linked with rel="sponsored". Who the partner is and what the arrangement pays for is disclosed at /about/.
